When I was young I remember staring googly-eyed at my parent’s TV, drooling over Singing in the Rain and Spirited Away and School of Rock. I became a theatre kid, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, joining the National Youth Theatre, and competing as a ballroom dancer all over the UK.

I read a bunch of George Orwell and got super interested in the hidden systems that shape our world, so I went to Cambridge to do a degree in philosophy and think Deep Thoughts. After a few years of nerding out over economics and technology and the future I became a pretty promising startup guy, where I raised millions of dollars and hired an amazing team for a venture I cofounded.

After a while I really wanted to work with artists and help tell beautiful, funny, moving, insightful stories - so I put my tech life on pause and decided to focus on learning the craft of filmmaking.
